COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE POEMS BHAI VIR SINGH AND SHIV KUMAR BATALAVI IN THE LIGHT OF ECOCRITICAL THEORY

Abstract

In literary sphere, approach of Ecocriticism focuses on environmental issues and dominance of man over non-human living and non-living objects. Rapid degradation of environment is an important concern facing all disciplines of knowledge and man centeredness known as anthropocentrism is believed to be one of the major causes behind this.The present study is an attempt to focus on Bhai Vir Singh’s selected poetry in the theoretical framework of ecocriticism in order to shed light on the poet’s vigilant viewsabout the relationship of human life and nature.
