A NEW VISION OF CHROMATIC CONSTRUCTS OF IDENTITY IN BRITT BENNETT’S THE VANISHING HALF
Abstract
African-American Literature often explores themes such as identity race, racism, discrimination, social inequality, and the quest for freedom and equality. Popular scholars which include Bell Hooks, Britt Bennett, Alice Walker as well as Toni Morrison and Zora Neale Hurston, had made significant contributions to African American literature through their insightful and powerful writings. They have used their literary works as a means of expression, cultural preservation, and social commentary. The first novel by Bennett.
